God’s Word for Today - 26 July 2026
Deuteronomy 27:19 (KJV): Cursed [be] he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 26 July 2026
Considering the degree and widespread nature of injustice that occurs in society, even in church communities, it is doubtful if people give any thought to the fact that God is vexed with those who maltreat strangers, the fatherless, orphans and widows and deny them their rights. The oppressors of these defenceless ones will not go unpunished by God. That is as certain as the day follows the night. The Bible enjoins everyone who is faithfully following Christ to ensure that they pay particular attention to the underprivileged and the needy that they are not oppressed, marginalised, or maltreated in any way. How are you measuring up to God’s expectation of you in this matter? Examine yourself and make amends.
Pray: Ever loving God, give me a burden of caring for the helpless in society. #Mok
