God’s Word for Today – 23 June 2024
Acts 14:18 KJV — And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today – 23 June 2024
Today’s scripture tells us how authentic disciples of Christ behave in the face of temptation to being adulated by fellow humans. Sadly today we see a widespread desire among leaders of ministries to be idolised by members of their congregation. Some even demand such adulation, making themselves equal to Jehovah who alone is worthy to be worshipped and adored. If you are a leader and you fall in this category I must warn you that you are playing with fire. You are not only endangering yourself but you are equally leading your gullible followers on a pernicious path. Be assured that Jehovah will not look kindly upon you because He will never share His glory with anyone. King Herod tried it and was instantly destroyed. Beware!
Pray: O Lord God, let me never seek to be worshipped but to direct all adoration to You alone. #Mok
