1 Timothy 5:17 KJV — Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 25 Sept 2025
Today’s scripture is very clear about how those who labour in Christ’s Vineyard in various leadership roles ought to be honoured. But how many church assemblies follow and implement this biblical injunction? The story will be as varied as there are church congratulations. I make bold to say that this, among others, is a main reason for proliferation of churches, especially the non-traditional denominations. Church ministers and workers are hardly given any reward for their service to the people. They are often exploited as volunteers without honour. Are you guilty of this behaviour? Repent and let God reform you.
