God’s Word for Today – 30 June 2025
Daniel 5:20 KJV — But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:
Reflection on God’s Word for Today – 30 June 2025
Pride is a terrible liability for anyone to have. It has been the downfall of millions of people, both high and low, royal and commoner, wealthy and poor. No one who is proud is ever spared the agony of a terrible defeat because Jehovah does not accept the person of the proud. Our scripture today refers to King Nebuchadnezzar of the great Babylonian empire who God warned to desist from pride but chose to ignore the warning of the Holy God and continued in his prideful way. Jehovah taught him a lesson he never forgot. Many people today are behaving like Nebuchadnezzar and receiving the same punishment because Christ is the same and never will change. Be warned that pride will destroy you, so change today and learn to be humble.
Pray: Immortal God, teach me to be humble and to acknowledge You as my Enabler. #Mok
