Exodus 35:21 (KJV): And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, [and] they brought the LORD'S offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 01 May 2026

In the world today it is often easier for the proverbial camel to pass through the eye of the needle than to convince religious people to support religious causes without much cajoling and appeals to emotions. Today’s scripture passage lets us know that genuine worshippers of Jehovah do not need any cajoling because God’s Spirit stirs them. This tells us that where the need is genuinely focused on pleasing Christ, no one needs any cajoling. But the truth of the matter is that in most cases the call for sacrificial giving is to satisfy personal desires and greed of the leaders and not for the glory of God. Many who lack knowledge and understanding fall into this trap and become saddled with debt and sorrow. Do not become another victim.
