God’s Word for Today - 01 Oct 2026

Exodus 1:14 (KJV): And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, [was] with rigour.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 01 Oct 2026

Life for the Israelites in Egyptian captivity and slavery was so denigrating that it beats anyone’s imagination. Many would argue that this was in the dark ages but that is most untrue because there are millions all over the world who are still living in similar conditions described in today’s scripture. And worse still, there are people who claim to belong to Christ, and who treat their employees as slaves, exploiting them and not according them any modicum of dignity and respect. God expects you to value and respect those who serve you and not to deny them their rights. If you are in the habit of exploiting and oppressing those who serve you because you simply can, you must know that God by Himself will fight for them. And you sure do not want God as your opponent. So, change your ways today.

Pray: Sovereign God, You detest all forms of injustice. Have mercy on me and help me to treat those who serve me justly and respectfully. #Mok
