Colossians 2:23 (KJV): Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 11 May 2026

There are many religious practices that adherents of certain religions erroneously believe to be essential signs of being spiritual and pleasing unto God. They believe that Jehovah exalts those who excel in those practices, so they seek to enforce them on others. But I will have you know that this is far from the truth and that true salvation is a gift from God. It is given through faith in Christ alone. There is nothing anyone can do to earn it. That is the only way that God has made by which people can be reconciled to Him. Let the Holy Spirit guide you instead to know how to keep your body holy and to stay consecrated to the Holy God. You are God’s temple, body, soul, and spirit and you must see to it that you do not mess with any part of the temple through unwholesome religious practices.
