Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 21 Dec 2025

Jehovah the God of grace and mercy is not a transactional God as many are led to believe. He sacrificed His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to reconcile humankind to Himself while we were yet in sin. I have seen many people who promised to do certain things in return for God bringing them out of some dire situation and they reneged on their vows when God has sorted them out. This, sadly, is common practice among many churchgoers and it should be condemned. Jehovah does not need your vows to deliver you out of your distresses. He who causes the sun to shine on the good and the wicked is gracious enough to supply your needs without your vows. So, if you choose to vow, ensure that you fulfill your vow and avoid any consequences.
