Matthew 6:2 KJV — Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 02 Apr 2025
There’s not an iota of doubt in my mind that there are so many individuals and organisations that are truthfully doing charitable work among deprived and underserved communities worldwide. Walking the tension between publicising what they do without violating today’s scripture will often require discernment and careful action. But there are many hypocrites out there who do charitable acts only to earn publicity and never out of a truly caring heart. If you are that person I want you to know that you will not receive any reward from Jehovah. You must desist and repent of the deception because you cannot deceive the Omniscient God, never. Stop going around with a media crew to do charitable work.
