1 Corinthians 11:22 KJV — What? Have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? Or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 08 July 2024
I have personally witnessed instances where followers of Christ were gathered for leaders retreat or for thanksgiving where meals were served and what I saw each time was indeed heartbreaking. I saw people losing all decorum in their bid for food and some were even squirrelling food away in bags they had brought along for that purpose. I don’t have words to adequately describe how disgraceful this was but I know very well that Christ was not pleased with the behaviour. If you have a tendency to behave in this manner, I want you to know that it is very shameful and God despises it, so stop henceforth. And go a step further to speak out and condemn such behaviour wherever you see it in the assembly of God’s people.
