Matthew 16:26 KJV — For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 21 May 2024
There are billions of people today who are fully steeped in the rat race to get rich and a life-stiffling competition rages among the rich who are competing to be the richest. Both the haves and the have-nots are equally engaged in this race that leads to nowhere but destruction. But it does seem like these people are void of any semblance of reason because what they crave for has been proven time and time again to be incapable of satisfying their yearnings. No human being has ever been shown to have enough, but they seek more ad infinitum. It is very disheartening to see such people paying no attention to what actually matters – the state of their souls. They fail to realise that a soul is of infinitely more value than the whole world as possession. What is the state of your own soul? Do you care?
