Mark 13:9 KJV — But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

It is unfortunate to know that many who are following Jesus struggle to accept today’s scripture that prewarns of fiery trials and persecutions for no reason, other than the fact that one identifies with Christ. But the truth is that anyone who identifies with Jehovah will assuredly suffer tribulations in the present world. The moment you declare to be on the Lord’s side you automatically become a sure target for Satan’s unrelenting attacks. Once you decide to hate what the people of the world love, because you love God, you become an enemy of the world and subject of their most vicious vituperations. But I have good news for you. If you stay anchored in Christ you are sure to overcome and Jehovah will surely avenge you and give you peace beyond measure. So, I say fear not what people can do to you because God is with you always.
