Isaiah 58:4 KJV — Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 30 Oct 2024
A diligent investigation into the attitudes and behaviours exhibited by people who claim to be waiting on God will throw up some quite unexpected and intriguing surprises. Today’s scripture captures it quite vividly and gave a straightforward verdict on what result that brings. There are many in churches around the world who embark on this journey of fasting but are absolutely not in the right state of preparedness in soul and spirit. And their attitude and behaviour towards others could be described as reprehensible. If this picture fits you, I implore you to have a change of heart today if you want your fasting and praying to be acceptable to God.
Pray: Oh Lord God, teach me to eschew every form of wickedness and to show love to others that You may hearken to me when I cry to You. #Mok
