Exodus 31:14 KJV — Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 13 Sept 2024
God established the principle of the Sabbath right from the very beginning of creation when he rested from all His work on the seventh day. He underscored the importance of this principle by instructing the children of Israel to keep it holy setting death as a consequence for violating that command. The doctrine of mandatory rest from all labour transcends religion. It is crucial for the overall wellbeing of humans and their relationship with their Creator. God expects you to set aside quality time in contemplation and worship of Him without any distraction whatsoever. Your kicking against this will have consequences that you can’t handle. Please think again and respect the Sabbath.
Pray: Merciful God, forgive me for violating the Sabbath. Help me to consecrate myself to You and keep the day holy. #Mok
