Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 03 May 2024
This scripture today reminds me of many instances I have heard of or even personally witnessed where people were denied of needed support from some churches simply because they were either not registered members or were members who were not current in their financial obligations to the church. The relationships were strictly transactional to the exclusion of any show of mercy that is the hallmark of a life in Christ. Do you know that people in need turn to churches for help because they believe the churches would confirm what they preach through dedicated actions? But sadly some churches fail even in this very basic of tests. No wonder the Bible teaches that faith without works is dead. I want you to know that the outward works of mercy and charity you render to those in need only go to confirm your inner faith and who you truly are. Start acting like one who truly is anchored in Christ.
