Zechariah 7:5 KJV — Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 04 Oct 2024
A lot of fasting and prayers goes on across the world for all manners of imaginable and unimaginable reasons with different types of outcomes. It is not uncommon to hear many folks complaining and grumbling about their efforts not yielding the desired result. One cannot but sympathise with such folks when you come to understand the stories behind their fruitless efforts because in many instances they were victims of misguided doctrines about Jehovah. In most cases the petition is for selfish reasons that will not benefit even the recipient. Have you been in such a situation? Then you need to reassess your relationship with Christ and examine your motives for your petitions.
