God’s Word for Today - 04 Oct 2026

Luke 16:13 (KJV): No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 04 Oct 2026

The scriptures are very clear that it is not possible to be equally loyal in serving two masters simultaneously. Thus, it is foolhardy for anyone to want to do that. But that is precisely what a lot of people try to do in their arrogance and rebellion. Many people want to follow the dictates of the devil in their pursuit of wealth and power while at the same time professing to be serving Christ. Though they may not know this, their actions and attitudes betray who they really serve, and people see through them. And while they may fool many and lure them into their pernicious ways, genuine followers of Christ disdain them. If you are observant, you will see them in your congregation, your workplace, and your community and you must do your diligence to steer clear of them.

Pray: Gracious God, give me grace to never fall for the allure of false gods and false worship. #Mok
