God’s Word for Today - 20 Oct 2026

Luke 22:26 (KJV): But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 20 Oct 2026

The traditional concept and practice of leadership in the world is completely different from God’s idea of leadership that Christ modelled for all to see and emulate. In His countercultural manner Christ teaches a doctrine of leadership that turns upside down what the world’s leadership schools teach and celebrate. For Christ and in the Kingdom of God to lead is to serve and not to be served. But what do those who occupy leadership roles in church ministries do? Many of them unfortunately lord it over people rather than serve them. They demand and command to be served and mistreat those who are not quick to dance to their tunes. They oppress and fleece those who they are supposed to be leading by serving. If you are such a leader, I implore you to repent and change today.

Pray: Ever faithful God, I bow down in awe of you, teach me Lord to be a servant leader after Your heart. #Mok
