God’s Word for Today - 11 Nov 2025
Amos 8:6 (KJV): That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; [yea], and sell the refuse of the wheat?
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 11 Nov 2025
Experience shows that many who are rich and wealthy by world standards are often in the habit of exploiting and defrauding the poor wherever and whenever they can and, though this is condemnable, most people just look the other way, depriving the helpless of much needed support. God’s expectation of everyone He created is to love mercy, seek justice and to walk humbly before Jehovah but a lot of people cannot be bothered to fulfill this divine injunction. The result is the chaos and suffering that we see in the world today and the churches are equally guilty of this offence. Many churches and their leaders indulge in the practice of deceiving and defrauding the poorest of the poor in their congregations while the leaders live in ill- gotten opulence. Instead of feeding and nurturing Yahweh’s flock in their charge, they have developed expertise and callousness in fleecing them. I assure you that this will not go unpunished, so beware.
Pray: Oh Lord God Almighty, help our church leaders to reform and do right for the poor and needy and never to exploit them ever. #Mok
