Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 17 Sept 2026

Jealousy and envy are two horrible human traits that continue to cause havoc in society and destroy lives. These twin traits were the cause of the first recorded homicide in the Bible, and sadly many people today are still falling victim either as perpetrators or recipients. And even more saddening is the fact that this is happening among church people who should be living by a different set of standards given by Christ. When you allow the fallen human nature to dominate and control you, then what the Bible calls the works of the flesh will be the inevitable fruit you will be producing. Bitterness will be deeply rooted in you, resulting in envy and jealousy, a cancer that destroys from the inside and pushes you to do evil externally to the subject of your envy. Please repent and let God transform you.

Pray: Divine Holy Spirit, I do not want to live life envying others. Please purge me of envy and jealousy and renew a righteous spirit in me. #Mok
