Amos 5:11 (KJV): Forasmuch therefore as your treading [is] upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 28 Nov 2025

Today’s scripture is a sure warning of retribution to those who abuse their position and power to oppress others, especially denying those who are in their employ and who serve them truthfully their rightful dues, simply because they can. There are many people in Christendom today who are struggling to understand the reasons for their troubles because they fail to associate their business practices with Jehovah’s warning for fairness and justice in the workplace. They fail to pay fair wages to their workers and oppress them in various other ways that contradict God’s injunctions on how to treat those who are subject to one. Those who do so are at war with Jehovah and they don’t know that. They suffer various afflictions and don’t know the root causes. Do this – start treating your employees with respect and dignity, pay them fair wages on a timely basis and see what God will do.
