God’s Word for Today - 24 Apr 2024 Psalm 39:1 KJV — To the chief Musician, even to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 24 Apr 2024 King David, who God declared as a man after His heart, was a great role model in his time and continues to be an inspiration today on how to truly walk with Jehovah in a way that is pleasing to God. The ultimate life purpose of everyone God created is to be conformed to the image of Christ. That’s the will of Jehovah for all humans. And to back up His will and to enable human beings to fulfil His purpose, God sacrificed Christ who was sinless to enable us live life without the burden of our sinful nature. God cannot and will not tolerate a sinful lifestyle because He is too holy to behold sin. This is why it is crucial that you emulate King David and make a covenant with your heart not to think evil and with your mouth not to offend. You can only do this with the help of God’s Holy Spirit if you choose to submit to Him. Are you willing to yield to Christ today and receive the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit? Pray: Everlasting Father, I thank You for Your patience with me, please help me to watch over my heart and mouth that I do not offend You. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 23 Apr 2024 Mark 13:9 KJV — But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 23 Apr 2024 It is unfortunate to know that many who are following Jesus struggle to accept today’s scripture that prewarns of fiery trials and persecutions for no reason, other than the fact that one identifies with Christ. But the truth is that anyone who identifies with Jehovah will assuredly suffer tribulations in the present world. The moment you declare to be on the Lord’s side you automatically become a sure target for Satan’s unrelenting attacks. Once you decide to hate what the people of the world love, because you love God, you become an enemy of the world and subject of their most vicious vituperations. But I have good news for you. If you stay anchored in Christ you are sure to overcome and Jehovah will surely avenge you and give you peace beyond measure. So, I say fear not what people can do to you because God is with you always.   Pray: Holy Lord, thank You for the assurance of hope and victory in the face of tribulations in the world. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 22 Apr 2024 Joshua 23:11 KJV — Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 22 Apr 2024 When you look around and see how those who proclaim to belong to Christ behave, you cannot but wonder if that is what loving Jehovah looks like. It reminds me of the story of a missionary to India who was trying to evangelise a local. The man responded by saying, yes I would like to follow Christ but I don’t see his character in those who claim to be following Him. That’s a tragic but true verdict. Many who profess to be followers of Christ deny Him by their character and lifestyle of disobedience. They are not like the disciples in Antioch that were first called Christians because they were simply Christlike. If your love of Jehovah is in talking only and not in your walking, then you have got the wrong end of the stick and must change. Let your love for God be seen in how you relate with those who Jehovah created and Jesus died for.   Pray: Divine Spirit of God, help me to love You with all my heart and love others as You love them. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 21 Apr 2024 Luke 12:15 KJV — And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 21 Apr 2024 The world is entrenched in an indefinite rat race for riches and material possession. And human beings are prepared to do the unthinkable to become rich. They seem to be suffering from an incurable get rich syndrome. This syndrome is popularised in several church ministeries through the despicable prosperity gospel that is luring millions away from the true gospel of Jesus Christ. The sad thing is that those who are being deceived by this fake doctrine continue to remain in the stranglehold of poverty while the evil perpetrators are smiling to the banks without any remorse. Today’s scripture lets us know that Jehovah never measures your life by your affluence. Your life is much more valuable than what the world calls your networth. Let this truth sink deep down into you – you are worth more than you own and this is why Christ died for you. That’s how valuable God sees you and God is never wrong. Do you believe that? Then act to show you do.   Pray: Dear Lord, I am so sorry to be deceived by Mammon, help me to appreciate how much you value me. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 20 Apr 2024 Matthew 6:1 KJV — Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 20 Apr 2024 Many churches and para-church ministries seem to fall foul of today’s scriptural injuction not to put their acts of charity on display but to do so discreetly. Instead many do it with much fanfare and the mega-trumpets of social media for vain glory and in a pharisaic manner to be acclaimed by society. Let it not surprise you that God does not reward this, because you have already received the reward that you cherished – recognition and applaud of human beings. So, before you showcase and publicise your acts of kindness, ask yourself why you are doing it and if it is necessary. Ask yourself how publicising it would bring glory to Jehovah. Beware that you are doing it for the right reasons and in the right way, and not for your personal aggrandisement. That is fruitless and could be dangerous, so take heed.   Pray: Everlasting Father, please keep my motive pure in all my giving and let it be to Your glory alone. #Mok done ✅

God’s Word for Today - 19 Apr 2024 Malachi 2:15 KJV — And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 19 Apr 2024 The human spirit is steeped in rebellion due to the adamic nature of being descended from Adam and Eve. Unredeemed and unreformed, this spirit seeks to dominate human behaviour despite divine injuctions to be different and to submit to Christ to be transformed. One area in which this is obvious is the very high divorce rate in society, including among those who claim to follow Jesus. In spite of Christ’s teaching many followers find it convenient to disobey God in this very crucial matter of safeguarding the marital union. For Jehovah divorce is never an option because it destroys the very essence of the family that God has established. Jesus made this very plain so that those who love God may know how to navigate this matter that is so important to Jehovah. Take heed not to be on the wrong side of God by dealing treacherously with your spouse.   Pray: Heavenly Father, give me the grace that You alone can give to overcome the desire to divorce and to forgive instead. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 18 Apr 2024 Luke 17:3 KJV — Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 18 Apr 2024 It was Apostle Peter who asked Jesus how many times in a day one should forgive a repeat offender. And Christ, in His characteristic manner, gave him a countercultural answer, saying not seven times as the religious leaders teach, but seventy times seven. Christ is telling you and I that there is no limit to how often you should forgive anyone who is genuinely repentant and asks for forgiveness. It is important to know that there is no human relationship that can exist without offence because there’s no one who is perfect. Jehovah modelled for us how to restore and sustain relationships when, despite our offence, He forgave us and sacrificed Jesus to atone for our sin. So, God is not asking you and I to do what He has not done. Learn to emulate Christ and forgive those who offend you.   Pray: Dear Holy Spirit, I want to be able to forgive everyone who offends me, please help me to draw upon the grace You give. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 17 Apr 2024 2 Chronicles 19:7 KJV — Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 17 Apr 2024 Jehovah the El-Shaddai God is impartial and no one can bribe Him. There is a lot of misconception about the justice of Yahweh even among those who claim to know Him. Many pursue religion to their own detriment because they fail to understand that Jehovah is seeking relationship and not sacrifices. And God treats everyone equally because He loves and values everyone the same. You cannot bribe Him to do otherwise, but when you fully yield to Christ and do His bidding,  God will be pleased with you and cherish you as a well-beloved child, irrespective of your status in life. Don’t let anyone deceive you into believing otherwise, God is not moved by outward actions done with impure motives and manoeuvring. If you indulge in such, take this as a warning to desist and change because Jehovah is unhappy with you.   Pray: Merciful God, I repent of my crooked behaviour and ask Your forgiveness. Please release unction on me to please You always. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 16 Apr 2024 Jeremiah 9:4 KJV — Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 16 Apr 2024 No one needs a soothsayer to tell them that we live in a broken world that is soaked in wickedness and the people are prone to betraying one another. It is no wonder that there’s so much chaos and acrimony, even in families. It is a risky affair to trust anyone absolutely because everyone is frail and many could easily be misguided to betray the trust. But I have good news for you. There is someone you can trust absolutely to never ever betray you and His name is Jehovah. I tell you, your secrets are safe with Christ, He will never divulge them to others. And be rest assured that He will never renege on what He promises you. You can trust Him and be at peace. If you don’t have a personal relationship with Jehovah I invite you to take the risk today, and you will for ever be glad you did.   Pray: Elohim God, You are absolutely dependable, help me to trust in You with my whole heart. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 15 Apr 2024 Luke 21:8 KJV — And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 15 Apr 2024 I dare say that deception is probably the deadliest tool in Satan’s arsenal. It was deception he skillfully used to convince Adam and Eve to doubt Jehovah and disobey Him. Of course everyone descending from Adam and Eve became automatic partakers in that original sin and became estranged from God. Satan and his agents have not relented in their nefarious activity of leading people into captivity. In fact they have increased in their brazenness and have infiltrated society selling Satan’s fake news to the undiscerning and gullible folks. It is so disheartening that some even claim to be the Christ and drawing many onto the highway of perdition. Today’s scripture is a dire warning to those who have hearing ears to not let themselves be fooled by this satanic messaging so they don’t become willing preys to Satan. It is up to you to choose whom you will believe and follow, but do not say you have not been warned. Pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for the prompt warning of satanic ploys, help me to be alert and to flee from Satan and his agents. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 14 Apr 2024 Malachi 2:16 KJV — For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 14 Apr 2024 Gossiping, backstabbing, betrayal and discord is very rampant in society worldwide and the assemblies of those who profess Christ as Saviour are not left out of this despicable syndrome. From the pulpit to the pew there is widespread suffocating acrimony that is sucking life out of the flock. The atmosphere is so toxic to make any form of growth, spiritual and numerical, impossible. This is not what Jesus sacrificed His life for and should be condemned by everyone who genuinely loves Christ. Now the question is where do you stand in all of this? Are you a contributor to this toxic behaviour or are you a silent partner in its perpetration? I will have you know that if you are not actively opposing this behaviour and proactively promoting love, peace and respect for one another, then you are a partaker of the evil act and must desist.   Pray: Heavenly Lord, I repent that I have fallen short of Your expectations, please help me to live up to Your desire of me. #Mok

God's Word for Today - 13 Apr 2024 Matthew 18:10 KJV — Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 13 Apr 2024 Do you have the tendency to feel superior to others? Examine yourself to know if you are suffering from superiority complex. Do you not know that you are who you are only because Jehovah has enabled you? That, but for His grace and favour, you are a nobody at all? Why are you then puffed up and strutting about despising others? I want you to know that it is this same behaviour that got Lucifer demoted from his exalted position with ignominy and he became a vagabond and enemy of Jehovah, reserved for eternal damnation in hell. I want to believe you are a wise person, and if you are not, that you will be humble enough to ask God for wisdom and grace to be humble. Do not let pride and a haughty spirit destroy you. Submit to Christ and learn of Him.   Pray: Gracious Father, deliver me from the stranglehold of pride and help me to appreciate and honour others of low estate. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 12 Apr 2024 1 Corinthians 3:10 KJV — According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 12 Apr 2024 Every follower of Christ is called to a lifetime of fruitfulness and positive engagement with others in society sharing with them God’s unconditional love for humankind and Jehovah’s desire for all to come to the knowledge and embrace of Christ. If you are in Christ it is incumbent upon you to play your own part in the expansion of His kingdom on earth. But you must beware that you are building in consonance with the divine pattern. You must strive to build upon the foundation of Christ and no other. Don’t be a renegade because that’s tantamount to betraying Jehovah and aligning with Lucifer your archenemy. It is precisely for this reason that we see so much dysfunction in churches today. People going about doing their own stuff rather than heeding the call to build in line with God’s divine pattern. Don’t be a partaker in that rebellion.   Pray: Merciful God, thank You for choosing me to build with You, make me a wise builder for Your glory. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 11 Apr 2024 Mark 13:33 KJV — Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 11 Apr 2024 Ever since the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ into eternal glory sceptics and scorners have continually pestered His followers gloatingly asking of the promise of His return. Some who believed have been carried away into error as to the certainty of Christ’s imminent return Sadly some have even abandoned the faith and returned to their past sinful lifestyles. Today’s scripture admonishes those who will be faithful to be in a continuous state of readiness and never to lose focus of the promise of Christ and His second advent. Please don’t be deceived by Satan and his agents who tell you of the exact time or the signs because Jesus says these things cannot be predicted – no one knows when it will happen, except Jehovah. All you need to do is be prepared, live everyday as if it were the last.   Pray: O Lord God, help me to maintain a state of perpetual readiness for Your second advent. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 10 Apr 2024 Luke 21:34 KJV — And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 10 Apr 2024 Satan is such a sly being and adversary of those who follow Christ and no one should ever underrate him and the danger he constitutes. He is ever so sly that he will never ask you to directly confront Jehovah or disobey Him, but he will carefully sow the seeds of doubt in you or skillfully rationalise behaviour that God frowns upon. For instance, God says one should not make the pursuit of riches a life goal but satan lures with riches and many perish pursuing getting rich. God says trust me to supply what you need, but satan and the world tell you that you are the sole architect of your life and future. Many who are following Christ are so focused on loving the world and its culture that they forget the imminence of Christ’s second advent. They forget that Jesus says it will be like the time of Noah and people will be caught unaware. I urge you don’t be on the wrong side of the fence when it happens. Be prepared!   Pray: Lord Jesus, thank You for saving me, please help me to be alert, watching and praying that I be not surprised. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 09 Apr 2024 1 Corinthians 8:9 KJV — But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 09 Apr 2024 The natural unredeemed person is usually prone to take liberty for licence. The more freedom they have the more uncontrollable they behave and that’s just normal for them. It is so unfortunate that this behaviour is also found in some who identify as Christ followers. This is very concerning though it is not new as today’s scripture makes us understand. Our inability to fully understand how to walk in the grace God has endowed us with is becoming a threat and hindrance to the faith of others who are observing us and look up to us as role models. We send them wrong signals by our behaviour and manner of life. We seem to have forgotten Christ’s admonition that it is better to be cast bound into the sea than to cause anyone to stumble in the faith. How are you using your own grace? It’s time to examine yourself and act aright.   Pray: Spirit of God, I am sorry that I have not been mindful of walking in grace, please teach me to not abuse God’s grace. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 08 Apr 2024 Acts 20:28 KJV — Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 08 Apr 2024 It is disheartening to see so much dysfunction in many churches across the globe because some of those who are entrusted with leading and nurturing the flock of Christ have gone rogue and are doing the opposite of what they have been commissioned to do. Such people, knowingly or unknowingly, have become God’s enemies because they are working contrary to Jehovah’s plan for His kingdom. They gleefully fleece the flock of God in the erroneous belief that God will not call them to account. By their actions they derail the faith of many, cause others to question Jehovah and hinder others from coming to Christ. I don’t know what role you play in your own assembly, but I will have you know that God is watching you and you will give account of your stewardship when the time is ripe, so beware.   Pray: Heavenly Lord, thank You for giving me a role in your assembly, grant me grace to be a good steward for You. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 07 Apr 2024 Romans 11:21 KJV — For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 07 Apr 2024 Jehovah dispenses justice and mercy without respect of person. He has set boundaries that must not be violated and anyone who does will face the consequences without measure. That’s the justice of God. But His enduring mercy means that God is very magnanimous in not giving us the punishment we deserve, but shows us mercy instead and showers us in His grace. Sadly many today misinterpret this to mean that Jehovah will not do justice. If you are in this camp of deceived ones, I plead with you to please think again. God not only rejected unfaithful Israel, He equally dispensed His wrath on the fallen angels and dispatched them to the lake of fire. Jehovah has no problem dealing decisively with rebels and rebellion, so don’t let anyone deceive you. Please put an end to your rebellion now and submit fully to Christ. It is the only wise thing you can do to remain pleasing unto Jehovah.   Pray: Oh Lord God, I repent of abusing Your patience and ask Your forgiveness. Please help me to be faithful to You. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 06 Apr 2024 1 Corinthians 10:12 KJV — Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 06 Apr 2024 There’s nothing as dangerous as overconfidence in one’s abilities because it is laid on the foundation of pride and arrogance. And, if you don’t know it, I want you to know that pride and arrogance ultimately lead to disgrace and shame. As the popular saying goes “pride goes before a fall”. The proud person is devoid of reason, is cocky, has a bloated ego and overestimates their capabilities, hence such a person is prone to embarrassing failures, time and time again. Such people lack self-awareness and will struggle with building lasting relationships. Has Jehovah endowed you with certain abilities that make you puffed up? Beware, stop overestimating yourself and learn to cultivate humility and respect for those around you. A word is enough for the wise.   Pray: Omniscient God, I cannot do this on my own, please help me combat pride and arrogance. #Mok

God’s Word for Today - 05 Apr 2024 Galatians 5:15 KJV — But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.   Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 05 Apr 2024 There is no doubt whatever that there is turmoil and disaffection in many congregations of those who follow Jesus today. The level of acrimony in some cases has even led to breakup of such assemblies. The resultant effect is that many lives have been severely impacted negatively, some beyond redemption. People become so traumatised they even turn their back to God because of what they have been through in such places of worship. This happens when people fail to follow the teachings of Christ faithfully and truthfully. When people begin to compromise the doctrine of Christ by diluting it with human doctrines. They fall foul of the most simple command to love one another as Christ loves them. You can be a difference maker by sticking to Christ even when you are the only one doing so. Strive to let Christ live through you.   Pray: Spirit Divine, You are my Enabler, please uphold me in living for You. #Mok
