1 Kings 9:3 (KJV): And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 01 Aug 2026

Several people keep wondering why tonnes of prayers remain unanswered despite the obvious fervency with which those prayers are being made. But the answer is often not too farfetched. The challenge often lies in the motives for making those prayers. Let us make one thing clear, the Almighty God is a Promise Keeper and He cannot lie. He says call upon me and I will answer, so when the answer does not seem to come, the problem is not with God but with either the petitioner and/or the petition itself. Jehovah is desirous of communing with those who trust in Him and fulfilling their desires that are aligned with His will. Those who know Christ make their desires known to Him and He answers them in His own time. When you are intimate with God, you will know His will and you will never ask amiss. I implore you to seek and develop intimacy with Christ.
