Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 24 Aug 2026

Sometimes, God in His sovereignty chooses to act in dramatic ways to bring us assurance of His promises at the fullness of time ahead of their being fulfilled. And what a joyful moment that is for anyone receiving such assurance, to know that Jehovah did not forget them. The Bible tells us that Cornelius in today’s scripture was such a person. He persisted in hope and never relented in serving Jehovah. He kept his focus on God and not on the outcome he was looking for and God rewarded his faithfulness. Have you been waiting to hear from God about your petitions? I encourage you to not give up but to remain faithful in the knowledge that God will come through to you in the fullness of time. He did it for Cornelius and for Zechariah and Elizabeth his wife. He is still the same God and will do it for you too.
