There is a cogent reason why the Bible enjoins those who are Christ followers to pray persistently and be thankful. And the reason is not far-fetched. Continuing in prayer creates intimacy with Jehovah and intimacy opens the door to a deeper understanding of God and His thoughts through which one gains a knowledge of His will and the grace to walk in God’s will. This explains why the devil fights tooth and nail to either hinder people from praying or making them focus their prayers on selfish desires that God will not be pleased with. You must learn to cultivate the habit of consciously letting God be in your thoughts everyday all-day long by pausing now and again to just appreciate Him for who He is and what He is doing in your life.
