Ecclesiastes 9:11 (KJV): I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race [is] not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 04 Apr 2026

It is unfortunate that one finds some followers of Christ who seem to be devoid of understanding that their achievements and successes are not due to their superiority but due to God’s mercy and favour. In their ignorance they denigrate others who are less fortunate, oblivious of the fact that there is nothing you have that was not given to you. It is God that guides one to be in the right place at the right time as one follows the leading of the Holy Spirit and not one’s understanding. No one can achieve anything by brute force or being smart without God aligning everything in one’s favour.

Pray: Heavenly Lord, help me to depend always on You and never to lean on my own understanding. #Mok
