Matthew 23:14 (KJV): Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 04 Aug 2026

The pharisaic spirit lives on today in church communities where so-called worshippers of Christ are competing fiercely to outperform one another in religious show of superiority. The term “do as I say not as I do” has become a common mantra among worshippers from the pulpit to the pews. But one thing is certain, no one can deceive God who sees beyond the superficial and deep into the dark recesses of the human mind. He shines His light and their dark deeds are exposed to Jehovah who rewards everyone according to the fruit they produce. Are you a pretending hypocrite? You may succeed in deceiving those around you, but you cannot deceive the all-knowing God. So, I implore you to submit to the Holy Spirit and let God transform you for good.
