James 4:4 (KJV): Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 04 May 2026

The verdict is clear and simple. You cannot follow Christ and be a lover of the world culture. Jesus Christ spoke plainly when He said you cannot serve two masters equally. You cannot serve God and mammon the spirit that rules the world. If you are truly a disciple of Christ, the world will hate you and will persecute you because you uphold the standard of living that pleases Jehovah and is contrary to the ways of the world. You do not fit in, so you will be excluded from benefiting from the fleeting largesse they think you need. But you know that when you have Christ you have all that you will ever need because God is your sufficiency. I encourage you to fix your gaze on Christ and turn your back on the world because with Christ you are a winner.
