God’s Word for Today - 06 Aug 2026
Luke 6:12 (KJV): And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 06 Aug 2026
Christ modelled the art of being alone with God, away from all distractions of daily living, to give His followers a fail-proof way of building intimacy with the Most High God. It is the secret of knowing God’s mind and knowing what to do in line with God’s will. Christ never did anything until He had communed with the Father, so they were always on the same page on every matter. Unfortunately, many of us have completely misunderstood what it means to pray and to be alone with Jehovah. We treat prayer as a monologue instead of the dialogue it should be, and we do all the talking, leaving no room for God to respond. And we do this ad nauseam and getting disappointed that our prayers go unanswered. I encourage you to reexamine your understanding of prayer and how you pray. Go back to the Bible and learn from the Master and His disciples.
Pray: Holy Spirit my Teacher, guide me in the way of effective prayer. #Mok
