God’s Word for Today - 07 May 2026
Mark 15:15 (KJV): And [so] Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged [him], to be crucified.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 07 May 2026
There are many people who like Pilate love position and power and are willing to do anything to retain that position. They will rather displease God than incur the displeasure and disapproval of the people who they perceive to be their benefactors. King Saul was that kind of leader too. He violated the laid down religious order to please the people and also disobeyed God’s orders. This behaviour is not limited to leaders. It is a common disease with humans. Many love to please people to remain relevant, and they do this even when they know it is dishonouring to God and God will be unhappy with them. You must make up your mind never to please anyone at God’s expense. It is a dangerous thing to do.
Pray: Gracious Jehovah, give me boldness never to dishonour you while pleasing people. #Mok
