God’s Word for Today - 09 Aug 2026
Psalm 4:1 (KJV): [[To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm of David.]] Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me [when I was] in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 09 Aug 2026
Many people are in the habit of taking God’s faithfulness towards those who are called by His name for granted, but this was never the case with King David. No wonder that God called David a man after His heart. David knew God intimately and acknowledged that he was nothing without Jehovah and nothing that he achieved was ever by his own strength but through God’s grace and power only. Several people today forget to show gratitude to God for His past deeds of redeeming and delivering them and supplying their needs but often show a sense of entitlement with God. Yet God is longsuffering and will not neglect the prayers of His children, but you must change your attitude and pray in humility with gratitude and give God glory for His faithfulness.
Pray: Gracious Jehovah, You are faithful even when I am unfaithful, please teach me to pray in gratitude. #Mok
