God’s Word for Today - 10 Nov 2025
Luke 19:8 (KJV): And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore [him] fourfold.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 10 Nov 2025
Zacchaeus in today’s scripture was a rich tax collector with a heart of gold who was full of compassion for the poor and less privileged. He was also quick to restitute any wrongdoing in accordance with the law. No wonder he was quick to understand Christ and His mission and embrace Him wholeheartedly. And it is encouraging to know that there are many people who are following Christ today and who have compassion for the poor and needy but who are struggling to understand the need for restitution as a precursor to restoration. Zacchaeus understood this and practised it and you can too if you find yourself in that situation. You can repent, restitute and be restored to full communion with Christ. You can yield to the Holy Spirit and let Him enable you to do what you cannot do in your own strength.
Pray: Divine Holy Spirit my Enabler, please help me to restitute every wrong I have done in oppressing the poor and needy around me. #Mok
