God’s Word for Today - 11 July 2026

James 3:9 (KJV): Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 11 July 2026

I have come across several church people who fit the description of today’s scripture in their manner of speaking. I will not be exaggerating if I say that this is endemic among many churchgoers. In one instant they are praising and blessing God and the next moment you see the same people at war with one another without any shame. This is a condemnable behaviour and should be condemned every time people indulge in such behaviour. Everyone who is named after Christ must learn to control themselves and watch their language. Jesus enjoins His followers to refrain from cursing and learn to bless only, even when one feels offended and cheated. That’s the divine yardstick and you will do well to uphold it as a lifestyle.

Pray: Omnipresent God, nothing ever escapes Your watchful eyes, please teach me to control my tongue. #Mok
