Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 12 Aug 2026

There are too many followers of Christ who allow themselves to be hounded by anxiety and worry and this ought not to be so because it is contrary to who they should be in Christ. There is no doubt that we can be plunged into very dire situations and our first reaction is to panic, but as followers of Christ we must not remain in that state. Rather than focus on the problem or challenge, whatever it is and how terrible it may look, we must pull ourselves together and set our gaze on Christ. When we do that, we will see how infinitesimally small the challenge is compared to the greatness of our God. Then we can pick up courage, make our request to the God for whom nothing is impossible, and be at peace, knowing that He will not fail us.
