God’s Word for Today - 12 Nov 2025
Romans 15:26 (KJV): For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 12 Nov 2025
God’s heart beats for those who are poor, especially those who are of the household of faith. The early apostolic church modelled how to care for the poor and underprivileged amongst the disciples of Christ and the churches of today will do well to follow and emulate that model. We see that confirmed in today’s scripture. And what we learn from this also is the fact that the support crossed borders and ethnicities, flowing from the non-Jews and Jews alike to Jews and others. The churches today must borrow a leaf from that and intensify their support for the poor in their communities and in other places as the Holy Spirit directs them. You must choose to be part of this without waiting for anyone to cajole you. Make it intentional, be cheerful about it and let it be in worship of Jehovah.
Pray: Glorious God, give me a heart of compassion and grace to cheerfully support those in need with what you have blessed me with. #Mok
