Luke 15:7 (KJV): I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 15 Jan 2026

I dare to say that there is nothing more precious to God than being reconciled with a perishing soul. We see this illustrated in the parable of the Prodigal Son. We see the unalloyed joy of a loving father as he was reunited with his lost son who repented and found his way back home to his loving father. This is a metaphor for the Heavenly Father who, together with the hosts of heaven, are overjoyed at the return of every repentant child to the Father’s embrace. If that is the case with Jehovah, what then should be our attitude towards winning souls for Christ? Nobody who is a true follower of Christ dares to neglect this sacred duty that touches the deepest core of God’s heart. He sacrificed Jesus Christ for this purpose, so that none should be left behind, except those who choose to reject Jehovah’s magnanimous offer of salvation through faith in Christ. Consider yourself blessed to be a co-labourer in this divine venture.
