God’s Word for Today - 16 Nov 2025
Isaiah 10:2 (KJV): To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and [that] they may rob the fatherless!
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 16 Nov 2025
I have seen church congregations where the prevailing leadership attitude is that of might is right, where people only matter when they make large material and financial contributions to the purse. Those who are less endowed are often treated with levity, if not ignored. And they are often denied basic rights and privileges that those who are affluent in the congregation receive. God condemns this behaviour and everyone who follows Christ should condemn it too and rebuke those who indulge in denying the less privileged righteous treatment in all matters. Jehovah has a soft spot for widows and the fatherless because society often discriminates against them and oppresses them by failing to give them their due. If you are a faithful follower of Christ you must champion the cause of the oppressed everywhere it happens.
Pray: Gracious God, You detest any form of injustice and will not look kindly to those who do injustice. Help me to do right in every situation. #Mok
