Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 17 July 2026

Many people do not realise this, but when a deception is unmasked, the deceiver often pays a painful price for their action. In today’s scripture we see the Gibeonites pay a cross-generational price that condemned them to a lifetime of servitude. The Gibeonites in their own understanding were being very clever in what they did, not knowing that they were digging a grave for not only themselves, but also for generations after them. There are many today who believe that they can deceive God by deceiving others. This is a dangerous thing to do because nobody can deceive God, and when you deceive others to get advantage for yourself, God will call you to account. Please note that making false presentations in any area of life will cause you sorrow, both here on earth and in eternity. So, stop doing that and let God transform you.
