God’s Word for Today – 17 Mar 2026
Matthew 6:6 (KJV): But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today – 17 Mar 2026
Praying is such a misunderstood activity that prompted the early disciples of Jesus Christ to ask Him to teach them how to pray while He was here on earth. They must have contrasted the way Christ prayed with what they were accustomed to in the Jewish synagogues and Jewish customs and found Christ’s to have been more effective. The answer they received must have stunned them and they had to unlearn what they were used to and adopt this new attitude and approach of praying that Christ recommended to them. Let your praying be a direct personal communication between you and Jehovah and let it be done alone with God, excluding all others. This must be the foundation for all other types of prayer that you may engage in.
Pray: Immortal God who answers prayers, please clothe me with the garment of fervent and effective prayer. #Mok
