Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 18 Aug 2026

In my experience it looks like a lot of people who started the journey of faith in Christ did not really understand what they were signing up to and become very disappointed when things turn out differently from what they expected. But the truth of the matter is that nowhere in the Bible did Christ or anyone promise anyone who embarks on the faith journey that it would be rosy. In fact, Christ repeatedly warned that the journey would be difficult and perilous, but the faithful will overcome. That hope of eventual victory should give one joy, and God gives one grace to patiently wait and be prayerful. It is most unfortunate if you were sold a false promise, but you must now embrace the gospel truth and ask God for grace to continue in the journey of following Christ truthfully.
