1 Corinthians 14:16 (KJV): Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 18 Dec 2025

Any keen observer of the practices in some denominational church congregations cannot but have noticed how far departed from today’s scripture such denominations are. People seem to be in competition as to who is best and loudest in praying in tongues. Apostle Paul elsewhere in the Bible admonished the Faithful to only speak publicly in the spirit when there is someone to interpret, otherwise to refrain from doing that because no one is blessed by the action. And they can’t thank God, so your speaking and thanking God in the spirit in public is fruitless. But this is common practice in some churches and you don’t have to emulate that practice.

Pray: Oh Lord God, thank You for enabling me to speak in the language of Your Holy Spirit, please give me the gift to interpret too. #Mok
