Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 18 Jan 2026

Nineveh, described as a great city with over 120,000 inhabitants, was going to be destroyed by God just like Sodom and Gomorrah. But Jehovah is full of mercy and gives everyone another chance to amend their ways and avoid His wrath. God dispatched His messenger Prophet Jonah on the crucial mission with the warning of impending doom if the people of Nineveh fail to forsake their evil ways. Though Jonah refused and tried to run away, but God compelled him and he delivered God’s message. The entire city of Nineveh hearkened and heeded the warning and repented, and God rescinded His plan to destroy them, saving them instead. This same God is calling you today to turn away from your evil lifestyle and embrace the truth of Christ, that you may be saved. I urge you not to resist but to hearken as the people of Nineveh did and were saved.
