The biblical account of the showdown at Mount Carmel between Elijah, the prophet of Jehovah and the 450 prophets of Baal is a crucial lesson for anyone who needs to engage in meaningful and effective prayer. The deceived prophets did all they knew to do, even to the extent of lacerating themselves, but all to no avail because their god is a mere idol they created for themselves. But when it came to the turn of Elijah the prophet of the one and only true God, he prepared the altar and called upon Jehovah without any drama and as was agreed before hand with the false prophets, the Holy Lord God answered by fire and consumed Elijah’s offering. If you want your prayers to be answered you must know that only Jehovah answers prayers. Put your trust and faith in Christ.
