Revelation 3:3 (KJV): Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 19 Jan 2026

Christ followers are constantly reminded of the need to always be prepared, watching and praying and to live every day as if it was their last day. Christ repeatedly made that pronouncement to show its importance and urgency. One must ask why this is necessary to warrant the constant reminder. There is an enemy out there called satan whose sole purpose is to hinder and derail those who have chosen to follow Christ from completing their mission. And the devil is both persistent and relentless in his attacks on the heirs of salvation, such that those who are slack or reckless with their faith may become victims of this unending warfare. So, what must you do? You need to guard your faith, watch and pray in season and out of season, waiting for the return of your Saviour and Lord.
