God’s Word for Today - 19 Nov 2025
1 Corinthians 13:3 (KJV): And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 19 Nov 2025
It is unfortunate that many people fail to understand the essence of the Ten Commandments and they struggle to comprehend how to relate with them. Jesus Christ gave us the clearest explanation of what they mean and how they are intended to be practised. And the essence is simply love. Love of God and love of other people. Sadly, many people still get this wrong and follow many different paths that they believe should put them in right standing with Jehovah. But today’s scripture makes it crystal clear that any moral and ethical works of goodness that is not based on, and driven by, love is worthless before the Almighty God. This will be a big surprise and disappointment to many religious folks whose entire idea of pleasing God is on merely doing good works and inflicting pain on themselves. Just remember when love is not in the equation, all efforts are worthless.
Pray: Gracious God, teach me to saturate every work of faith that I do with genuine love for You and for others. #Mok
