Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 20 Aug 2026

Anyone reading today’s scripture and who will be truthful to themselves will agree that this phenomenon of turning places of worship into dens of thieves is still very much with us. Many modern places of worship, especially church assemblies have been turned into multipurpose buildings where even the sanctuary is not exempt from being used for all manner of activities completely unrelated to the worship of the Most Holy God. Do not be deceived, it is not ever okay to defile the place that you have dedicated to the worship of Jehovah. Yes, your body is God’s temple, and you must not defile yourself, but you must not defile the assembly of worship either. Learn to treat both with the reverence they deserve as a form of worship of Christ. Do not be accounted as a thief.
