God’s Word for Today - 22 July 2026
Job 31:30 (KJV): Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a curse to his soul.
Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 22 July 2026
One of the greatest challenges human beings face is the need to bridle their tongues and control their speech. Intriguingly, people love to keep everything else to themselves but not their opinions, even when nobody is interested in those opinions. And worse still, those opinions are usually uttered to denigrate others, not to build them up. This behaviour is not confined to those outside of church communities as it is also rampant in those places where people call upon God’s name. It is paramount for anyone who names Christ as Lord to control their thoughts and actions, so they do not sin against God. Do not fall into the snare of wishing evil upon others because God will not exonerate you.
Pray: O Lord God Almighty, sanctify my thinking and my speech and let me not violate others in my thoughts. #Mok
