Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 22 Sept 2026

It is impossible for anyone to imagine what a devastating outcome awaits someone who accepts God’s gift of salvation and at some later point turns around to trample upon Christ’s sacrifice and thrash it. This offence is as good as rejecting Christ from the beginning and I dare say it is what the Bible refers to as the sin against the Holy Spirit that cannot be forgiven, ever. If such a person persists in their error, they remain an enemy of God and will receive a just reward in the end. But God is merciful and gracious, so if they repent and return to their first love in Christ, God is faithful to forgive them and bring them back into His fold. The sorrows of backsliding are real, so do not let the devil lure you away from Christ.
