Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 25 May 2026

The pursuit of wealth is a pandemic that has become a canker in society across several decades and millions are ready to go to any length to acquire wealth, no matter whose horse is gored. Sadly, the phenomenon is not limited to those who are of no faith. People of different beliefs fall foul of this unfortunate desire of human beings. The bible teaches that loving money is at the root of all the despicable behaviours we see in society today. And those who want to live in peace must develop a different relationship with money by being content with what they have and not letting the pursuit of money be their life goal. If Christ has redeemed you, I want you to know that you should focus all your attention on living for Christ and not chasing after money that can derail your faith and destroy you. Don’t make money the focus of your life.
