Mark 10:21 (KJV): Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 27 Nov 2025

One of the key blockers to a flourishing relationship with Christ is one’s disposition to relationships with others and with material possessions. Anyone who will have a fruitful relationship with Jehovah must overcome every emotional attachment to worldly possessions and the distorted customs of the world, and focus on being selfless and loving to others, even those who you think are undeserving. However, denying oneself is not something anyone can do in their own strength, but in Christ and with the Holy Ghost all things become possible. When you genuinely desire to follow Christ, God gives you the grace to prioritise those things that are essential for you to succeed and bear fruit in Christ. The choice is simple, hold on to the fleeting pleasures of this world, or give them up for the unshakeable eternal treasures.
